How to Build a Cow Pasture in Farming Simulator 25?

Starting livestock farming in the Farming Simulator series is an expensive endeavor. Buildings are quite costly, and the equipment required for maintenance is often too expensive to afford or sustain with the initial budget provided in the game. However, in Farming Simulator 25, the Cow Pasture building has been added to allow players to choose livestock farming over crop cultivation. Its setup cost and maintenance equipment expenses are significantly lower, enabling players to start raising cows right away.

FS25 Construction Menu

To build a Cow Pasture, go to the Others tab in the Store, then press the Construction button.

By clicking on the tab with the animal icon on the left side, navigate to the Cows category to find the Cow Pasture and place it on the owned land.

The placement cost is 15,000. Additionally, after placing the pasture, its boundaries can be marked with fences. The cost of the fences varies depending on the distance. As the land size increases, the number of cows that can be cared for also increases. The original Cow Pasture allows for only 7 cows. If you need assistance with this, watch the video at the bottom.

Step 2: Building a Water Tank for the Animals in the Pasture

A water tank is essential to meet the water needs of the animals in the pasture. Water must be filled from this tank and poured into the trough in the pasture.

The water tank can be purchased from the Construction menu in the Store, under the Containers category in the first tab. It can be placed on owned land for 3,000 in-game currency.

Step 3: Required Equipments for the Cow Pasture

To draw water from the water tank, a water tanker is needed. Additionally, a front loader and a bale fork are required to deliver bales to the pasture. A tractor equipped with a front loader attachment with minimum specifications is sufficient to carry out all these tasks.

The Zetor Proxima HS in the small tractor category, available at the most affordable price, will be sufficient with its front loader and functional capabilities. Additionally, the front loader equipment must also be purchased.

Next, let’s purchase the Albutt round bale fork from the front loader tools category. However, make sure to select the bale spike design when purchasing. This is important because it will make transferring bales to the pasture easier.

To transport water, any equipment from the Barrels category under the Animals main category in the Store can be purchased.

Step 4: Filling the Cow Pasture with Water and Food

The water transport equipment is attached to the tractor. Approach the placed Water Tank (it needs to be aligned properly), and press the R key to start filling the tank with water.

The filled water transport equipment is then brought closer to the pasture’s water filling point (it needs to be aligned properly). Afterward, press the I key to start the filling process.

In the Objects category at the bottom of the Store, Square Hay Bales can be purchased for the cows’ feed. Although Total Mixed Ration provides 100% support for cow development, hay bales still provide 80% support. This allows for cow farming at a much lower cost in the early stages.

The square hay bales are transported to the cow pasture’s feed storage using a tractor with a front loader attachment.
